Madhyanchal Forum is working extensively on forest conservation in two states- Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh. In the recent past, we conducted studies on the degradation of forests in these two states and its impact on the climate change and the livelihoods of their habitants. Following this, a number of initiatives were undertaken which were largely aimed at orienting and enhancing the capacity of local people to engage in community owned forest conservation activities by employing technological interventions and traditional practices.
The sole objective of these initiatives is to protect the biodiversity and enhancing the livelihoods of the communities.
